Befana arrives in Prato della Valle
It’s the last celebration of Christmas
time in Italy, but it is also one of the longest awaited days by all the
children, or at least by those who have behaved well and can receive
the deserved sock full of sweets. We are obviously speaking about Epiphany!
If you want to end Christmas celebrations in the best possible way,
spending one day of fun and sweetness, do not miss the event Befana in Prato!
Prato della Valle, the most famous square
in Padua, will be the setting for an event that has been conceived for
children and adults, too, with a varied program: starting from 3.30 pm on Sunday 6 January, you will attend shows with live music and entertainment by Piccolo
Coro of the Daigo Music School, the Daigo Gospel Choir e the“Befane
Special”. You will also enjoy the hip hop ballets by Danzacity and the
wandering shows by Silvia Scanta and Circo Samovar.
Prato della Valle will also host the association Dottor Clown and, obviously, the Befana, who will meet and listen to children, who will be given socks filled with sweets, offered by the municipality of Padua (while stocks last). Moreover, children and adults will enjoy hot drinks (free offer, the proceeds will go to charity).
The climax of the day will be reached at 5:30 pm, with the traditional bonfire, over 10 m high.
The event, which celebrates its 18th
edition this year, is organized by the Municipality of Padua in
collaboration with the Provincial Command of the Padua Fire Brigade and
thanks to the participation of Coldiretti Padova, the Battistolli
Vigilance Institute, the Doctor Clown association and Spirit in Dance.
The musical artistic direction is by Daigo Music School, and the event
will be presented by Chris Lirussi and Wendy Muraro. Those who cannot be
present in Prato della Valle can still enjoy the event by watching the
live TV on CafeTv24 (channel 95) and via streaming on the website www.cafetv24.it.
